Dehumidification >> Mold Removal

Mold has been around since the beginning of time, so why has it become such a concern today? Why do we read about the effects of Mold Removal in the news, or hear about mold hearing in the courts, or worry about mold disturbing our health?  There are various reasons to ponder. In the most recent years, the way they construct houses have made our homes tighter and reduced the possibility of natural ventilation in order to make the buildings even more energy efficient.

  1. However, by us limiting the natural ventilation, some of these modern building practices have the chance to increase moisture and Mold Removal problems. If we do not control these problems, they could lead to more moisture and mold situations. Many of our building construction materials that are usually in today’s houses, like paper-faced gypsum or drywall, foam backed carpet, pre-manufactured wood products, to name just a few  are highly susceptible to Mold Removal problems if they get damp or wet. Some professionals agree that our modern buildings have become more consistent and that we have gotten away from local building styles and practices that were subtle to regional climate.
  2. Argot style houses, or houses built in the regional style, often created ways to deal with worries such as rain, high relative humidity, or excessive condensation that otherwise might lead to Mold Removal problems. We are more well informed about the effects of mold growth in our buildings. We now know, for example, that delayed repairs of water damage leaks will lead to mold and that mold will damage or destroy our building materials. People typically spend much more time indoors than they did in the past. Most of us spend 90% or more of our time inside our homes and buildings.
  3. Therefore, we are more worried about the overall conditions of these buildings and their materials, and we should worry about the effect on our daily health. Medical experts tell us that Mold Removal has increased in the past recent years. We now know more about the general effects of mold on our health, and know that mold might be a threat to anyone’s overall health. People now days are more wary that our building environment could become a health factor. We now look to our living conditions to be a healthy place, but also think that environment might be the cause of physical allergy symptoms.
  4. We live in what most people would call a litigious society. When certain people have problems, like mold growing in their basement, they try to look for someone to blame and seek legal actions to fix their problems.  And in some cases, the media has certainly sensationalized mold concerns. So, you might ask, what is Mold Removal, simply put mold is a fungus. A fungus is a bacteria that thrives on decomposing and absorbing the organic matter on which it grows. Black molds, common mushrooms, yeasts, smuts, rusts, and mildew are all examples of fungi and there are literally thousands of kinds of molds.
