Crime scene cleanup, homicide cleanup

People that talk to a crime scene cleanup professional, usually say the same thing. You've probably seen it all. Horrific Homicide Cleanup like shotgun suicides, violent double homicides, decomposing bodies from suicide and much more. In the past our law enforcement has been responsible to clean up these crime scenes, then they walked away. After all, why should it be a police officer’s job to clean up the crime scene. And unfortunately, cleaning up the crime scene usually would fall into the hands of the victims family.

  1. Law enforcement really had no other choice, but now, there are companies that are surfacing which specialize in trauma and Homicide Cleanup. These crime scene cleanup companies, that many times work very close with police departments. They can take almost any crime scene, no matter how gory, and make it habitable again. Blood and tissue is classified a biohazard, and have to be treated that way. There are very strict regulations for the handling, cleanup and disposal of biohazards and blood-borne pathogens.  These companies that do this kind of work must have all of the necessary qualifications.
  2. Cleaning up a crime scene isn’t a police officer’s responsibility in the first place, but it would still feel horrible to just walk away from a messy Homicide Cleanup. The crime scene investigators always were troubled at first, having to leave a horrible homicide or suicide, turning it back over to the family and have them completely traumatized a second time. We knew there had to be a better way, but what could we do. Everyone in the Police Department was in agreement that we would pool the money for the cleanup out of our annual budget. If all that's left is a family member, and they do not have the resources available, we will call our own contractor and get it done for them.
  3. It's a health and safety concern as well as a stressful one. People that Homicide Cleanup biohazard's are required to do it correctly, and that doesn't mean just someone showing up with a mop and bucket. The family members or the landlord most certainly could clean up the crime scene, but they shouldn't have to. The problem is that is such a dangerous job and there’s so much bacteria and contamination from a badly decomposing body. These Homicide Cleanup people are exposing themselves to severe health hazards.
  4. The blood all by itself generates harmful bacteria, the bacteria is how the bodies break down. There is pretty much nothing that you can get off the shelf that will kill the biohazard and the waste. There is a very high health factor involved. They pay us to take the risks, but we can use the right kinds of products and we have to protect ourselves. Our Homicide Cleanup clients want to make it all go away, and we must make it safe and livable for the next person to stay there. Done right, crime scene cleanup restores the area to its original condition.
