In gabled tops, truss bracing generally consists of 2x4s that run the length of the top. If you do not really have truss bracing, it shall be replaced. You could do some of this yourself or hire a professional Monsoon Damage contractor. Place 2x4s the length of your top, overlapping the ends of the 2x4s across the two trusses. Braces shall be placed 18 inches from the ridge, in the middle span, and at the bottom, with 8 to 10 feet between the braces.

Check to see how the fixed door is secured at the top and/or the bottom. The bolts or pins that secure many doors are not strong adequate. Some door makers provide reinforcing bolt packs made specifically for their doors. Check with your local construction supplies retailer to find out what type of bolt systems will labor for your doors.
  4. The door bolts materials shall cost from $10 to $40, depending on the type and finish. Doors with a window will require an additional protection from flying debris. Double-wide (two-car) garage doors could present an issue during typhoons because they are so big that they wobble as the high winds blow and could pull out of their tracks or cave in from wind damage pressure. If garage doors fail, high Monsoon Damage could enter your house through the garage and blow down doors, windows, edges, and even the top.
