You'll need the smoker and smoker fuel, you'll also need some window screen or fine mesh hardware cloth. Use your smoker to make the bees lethargic, once the bees look very docile and nonthreatening the careful procedure of Bee Removal can be done.
  2. Carefully cut away the bee nest from whatever it is attached to, this may take some doing as not to damage the nest. Bees serve a very important function, and as time goes by there are fewer and fewer bees every year. 3. There is a certain way of lighting the bee smoker, first tear a half sheet of black print newspaper into one is strips packing the strips loosely into the base of the smoker the glossy newsprint paper found in magazines contain inks that might give off smoke with chemicals that could harm the bees. Put the newspaper strips in the bottom of the smoker and light them with a candle lighter or long matches. Squeeze the bellows gently several times until the flames have spread to the majority of the newspaper.
  4. Continue on with the Bee Removal by dropping loosely wanted pile of burlap twine upon the flames in the smoker. If the burlap twine his role to tightly it will make it difficult to light the twine and keep it lit. Use a spackling knife to press the twine deeper in the smoker until the level of the twine is burning is below the rim. Take some low residue woodchips or pellets this will make the smoker burn longer and more evenly.
  5. The Bee Removal should take about 20 to 30 minutes, the bees should remain lethargic this whole time and shouldn’t pose any problems. After the bees have been safely removed take green grass and stuff it into the spout lid until the smoke stops coming out in the flames go out. Allow the canister to cool for at least 20 minutes after the spout has been blocked.
