Most of the time when there is a tornado or hurricane, there is a certain amount of Flood Damage, from a long period of rain before, during and after the epicenter of the storm. In order to make preparations for a long duration of steady wind, rain and flying debris, is a good idea to secure your home at its vulnerable points like your windows and double doors that have an active and an inactive or fixed door. Check with your local building supplies retailer and hardware specialist to see if a retrofit kit is available for your make of garage door.
